A Journey Through Time - Exploring German Flea Markets

Since I came to Germany on a work assignment in 2015, my love and pursuit of old things has always been a part of my life with my family. Every weekend, the weekend flea market on the square in the city center, this place full of humanities and historical buildings, makes me full of expectations and excitement.

The charm of stepping into the flea market for the first time
When I first stepped into a weekend flea market in Germany, I was overwhelmed by what I saw. The market is filled with all kinds of antiques, second-hand items and unique collectibles. Ancient furniture, exquisite ceramics, antique clocks and retro clothing, each item exudes a sense of history. I seem to be in a time tunnel, and I can feel the style of the past era.

The joy of treasure hunting
At the flea market, I became like a treasure hunter, eager to discover the stories behind the objects. Each object has a unique historical background and cultural significance, and I strive to uncover the stories behind these treasures through observation, communication and research. Occasionally, I meet generous stallholders who share with me the history and background of the item, making my treasure hunt richer and more interesting.

The importance of understanding history and culture
Each object is a witness of a bygone era, they carry human memories and stories. By interacting with these objects, I was able not only to understand the lifestyle and art style of the time, but also to better understand people's emotions and ways of thinking. The flea market has been a rich repository of history and culture for me.
